When the decision was made to establish Sandvik Materials Technology as a separate entity, many in the organization were nervous about separating from the Sandvik brand. It was critical to forge a new global brand that was forward-leaning and ahead of the competition, while cherishing and safeguarding the deep values.

Working closely with the management team and other key functions over three years, Kurppa Hosk developed a comprehensive program encompassing strategy, design and activation. Bringing in capabilities from across ARC, Kurppa Hosk set about crafting a whole new brand, from the name through to brand activation.

At the core was an employer branding strategy crafted around an appreciation of the heritage and close ties to Sandviken, and the place it held in the hearts of employees. The strategy resulted in deep buy in from employees, and was recognized with the Grand Prix Magnet Employer Branding Award. Alleima have used their new brand as the foundation for meteoric commercial success, with their stock price soaring past both industry peers and their own former parent company.
